In January we were invited to spend the weekend with two other little families at a cottage near Huntsville. What a treat to escape to the quiet coziness of a lakeside retreat (thank you HM and GM!) Amon played with Baby O and Baby C, comparing notes and challenging Baby O to a sledding duel. Cottage with the kids meant early nights, lots of talk about sleep training, and a slower pace all around. We ladies managed to slip out for a snowshoe trek (my first time on snowshoes!) and breathe in freshness. Of all of the party, only GM was an Ontarian. Everyone else was from out west, and there was much banter about Ont and Ont kids first encountered at university. By the end of the weekend, our perspective on Ont had shifted... it was now Ont with kids, and Ont outside of Toronto, pretty, and relaxed.
